Frequently Asked Questions about TOKYO CIRCUS 5 Gotanda …

Q.

How do you put on your eyelash extensions?

A.

A We use special glue for extensions. When it comes to the simplest one (0.1mm-0.18mm), we put one extension for one eyelash each. However, in case of volume lash, we use the thinnest one (0.05mm) and put from 2 to 5 extensions for one eyelash. We put those from 1 to 1.5 mm away from the roots of your eyelashes, so they won’t fall into your eyes.

Q.

How long do your extensions hold?

A.

Everybody has a different shape of eyes, and length, thickness and quantity of eyelashes. If you consult with us and give us the image that you want, our eye stylists will suggest their ideas about curls, thickness and designs according to your original eyelashes. No matter what your need is, be free to talk about it with us, we adjust to whatever you want. If you want a natural styling, we will give you that. If you want some volume to your eyelashes, we will also do that.

Q.

During the procedure, does it sting or hurt the eyes?

A.

Our glue never comes into your eyes. But it sometimes sting your eyes because of your health condition and constitution. If you have dry eye syndrome, eyestrain and allergies, or couldn’t sleep enough or are feeling sick, we can’t do a procedure on you. We need to confirm if you and your eyes are OK before the procedure. If you had some allergic reactions before, we can’t offer you a procedure, either.

Q.

When are we not allowed to have eyelash extensions put on?

A.

If you have some problems around your eyes such as hordeolum, conjunctivitis, scars from contact lens, itches from allergy to pollen, we can’t give you procedure. Besides, if your health condition is not good, you couldn’t sleep well or your immunity is compromised, your eyes could sting and get red.We recommend you to have a procedure only when your condition is good.

Q.

Is it possible to have a procedure with my make-up on?

A.

Procedures with your eye makeup (mascaras, eyelash curlers, eye shadows, eye liners) on could be the reason why your eyelash extensions would fall so quickly, and it could prevent your eyelashes from being curled. Please come to our salon without eye makeup. If you come after your work or some special event, as an optional service, our staff can wipe off your makeup.

Q.

Is it OK to have a procedure with my contact lenses on?

A.

During the procedure, you’ll have to close your eyes for a long time. It’s better to take them off. If they are soft ones, the procedure itself wouldn’t pose any problem, but your eyes could be dried and have hyperaemia. If they are hard ones, we will ask you to take them off, so please don’t forget to bring your case for contact lenses.

Q.

Is it possible to put eyelash extensions on with my eyelashes permed?

A.

This doesn’t give us enough places for us to add extensions to your eyelashes, and it could be a reason why extensions come off easily. If you curled your eyelashes, we can’t give you extensions for at least three months because we need your new eyelashes to grow. And sometimes we might refuse the procedure when the condition of your eyelashes is not good. If you have a problem of your eyelashes falling out easily, we have a special effect called Monte Cils to stick then on. If you are interested in it, feel free to ask about it.

Q.

I’m pregnant now, but can I put on eyelash extensions?

A.

During pregnancy, there are some possibilities that cause allergy because hormone changes and physical constitution. On top of that, the procedure makes you stay in a same position for a long time. For these reasons, it is better to avoid the procedure. If you really want our procedure despite these cautions, please consult your doctor’s advice.

Q.

Recently I had a plastic surgery, or an art makeup or lasik around my eyes. Is it still possible to put on extensions?

A.

Be sure to consult with your doctor and follow the advice. And if you are allowed, please come to us. Without the confirmation from your doctor, we can’t give you a procedure.

Q.

s it possible to wash my face or go to hot yoga or a pool right after putting on eyelash extensions?

A.

After the procedure, please do not go to a place with high humidity for at least for 5 or 6 hours.

Q.

Can I use cleansing oil?

A.

It’s not recommended because the oil contents in products such as cleansing oil, creams and lotions can loosen the adhesiveness of the extensions, so an oil free cleanser is better. We prepare an oil free cleansing gel exclusively for extensions. Feel free to ask us about it.

Q.

Is it possible to use eyelash curlers or apply mascara with extensions on?

A.

It is better to avoid them. Eyelash curlers could break extensions and pluck your eyelashes. Regular and water proof mascaras could loosen extensions and cause some other problems. If they are exclusively for extensions, you can use them. We have this type of mascara available.

Q.

Should I have any caution having an eyebrow styling?

A.

Within two weeks after the procedure, it is better to avoid plucking and shaving your eyebrows, or having any special skin treatment such as a facial and chemical peeling. In eyebrow styling, we use waxes and tweezers to pluck hairs following the design. Sometimes it could cause eczema and itches on your skin, so if your skin is very sensitive or has some reaction, you’ll have to avoid it. After the operation, you need to take care of humidity retention and avoid ultra violet rays.

Q.

I’m thinking about having eyelash extensions and an eyebrow styling for a wedding.

A.

First, please tell us the date of the wedding and talk to us. Before the wedding, many people like to have photo sessions, so to include them, it is better to prepare 2 or 3 months in advance. A wedding is a very important ceremony, therefore you can’t have an eyelash procedure without planning. In addition, before the operation, it is better to have a patch test.

You’ll have to come to our salon at least twice if you want to put on extensions and do eyebrow styling. We’d like to think about the best design together for the wonderful wedding. The period to have a procedure before a wedding is 2 or 3 days, in order to have the extensions in their best condition. But if your health condition is not perfect, it would be better to have it 5 to 7 days before. We do not do procedures on the day of the wedding. When it comes to an eyebrow styling, it has to be at least a week before the wedding.
